On 12 August, 2016, Deputy Secretary of Municipal Party Committee, Mayor Chen Dong met with CPPCC member, Chief President of Hong Kong Federation of Industry and Commerce, Chairman of Lai Tak Group, Mr. Kong Tak Ho and his party who visited the city. Chen Dong proposed further in-depth cooperation, joint planning and establishing a textile and clothing industrial transformation and upgrading platform, as well as striving to build a Guangdong and Hong Kong industrial model.

Chen Dong spoke highly of Mr. Kong Tak Ho and Lai Tak Hong Kong’s important contribution to the building and development of Jieyang. Hopefully both sides could further cooperate, jointly plan and establish a textile and clothing industrial transformation and upgrading platform, and strive to build a Guangdong-Hong Kong industrial model. Chen Dong requested Puning City and the relevant departments to promote cooperation on the project by grasping "four changes", creating "five projects", building "six platforms" and achieving industrial construction. First, it was required to grasp the "four changes" by shifting from thinking about " projects" to thinking about " platforms ", from "individual enterprises" to "industrial clusters", from "introduction" to "going out", from  "cooperation between Puning and Hong Kong" to "cooperation between Guangdong and Hong Kong", even to international cooperation on "One Belt, One Road". Second, it was necessary to launch "five projects", strive to facilitate a return of Puning people to lead projects, work on a demonstration project between Guangdong and Hong Kong industries, explore ways to upgrade industrial transformation, and implement international industrial cooperation on "One Belt, One Road" and LianJiang governance project. Third, it was required to build "six platforms", a demonstration platform with new textile technology and equipment, a textile and garment R & D design service platform, a textile and apparel boutique cross-border electronic business platform, a cooperation and exchange platform for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, South Korea, Europe and the United States’ international textile and clothing industries, an integrated logistics platform for "Government, Industry, Academic, Research", a display platform for textile, garment industry, tourism, culture and history. Chen Dong stressed that Puning City and the relevant departments needed to enhance their thinking and awareness, further improve allocation of resources, work more efficiently and effectively, enhance their influence, do everything possible to launch various projects as soon as possible and strive to build a model project between Guangdong and Hong Kong industry.

Mr. Kong Tak Ho and his party visited the Puning City Textile and Garment Industrial Park. They expressed their appreciation to Jieyang and Puning governments for promoting industrial green development and prevention and control of Lianjiang pollution.

Mr. Kong Tak Ho remarked that they would make use of the advantages of Lai Tak Group and actively participate in home construction, make contribution to the textile and garment industry development in Jieyang City and Puning City.
